New Year, New ME!

So I went home over Christmas break and that was probably the best thing for me. I read about a friend who is going to do the ironman 70.3 in May and it motivated me to want to do the same. I talked with my mom and she has been wanting to run races (from 5 ks to marathons) for a long time. We found a race in Lagoon that is on April 4th. So we decided to start working towards that. I am so excited.
I work with people with disabilities. Recently I have been helping one of my clients lose weight. I figured it would only be fair if I also walked with him while he's on the treadmill. So, I walk or jog in place or around the room while he is on the treadmill. Doing this had made me really like the idea of being a fitness coach or life coach. I think that would be fun. So I have come up with some new years resolutions this year to help me keep on track of changing my life :)
The following are my New Years Resolutions this year and the month I plan to complete the goal.

  • Create some cool fitness ideas to inspire others to be healthier as well starting with a new year's challenge in January.
  • Read the Book of Mormon cover to cover (March) (http://www.mormon.org/beliefs/book-of-mormon)
  • Run a 5k race (April)
  • Bike to and from work, approx 9-10 miles one way depending on the route.  (May)
  • Run a 10k race (June)
  • Run a half marathon (August)
  • Be DEBT FREE! (October)
  • Bike 56 miles (November)
  • Swim 1.2 miles (December)
  • Complete the St. George Ironman 70.3 (May 2016)
Daily goals
  • Read scriptures (preferably 30 mins)
  • Walk/Jog for at least 30-60 mins a day
Weekly Goals
  • Post in this blog at least once a week.
  • do a long run every Saturday morning (amount depends on what I am working on that day.
January's goals
  • Be to page 410 in the Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 3)
  • Be able to run 2 miles without stopping (this is a hopeful goal)
  • Walk/ run a total of 114 miles (that's what I originally planned, but if I do the Run 2015 (http://www.runtheedge.com/2014/12/run-2015-in-2015-challenge/) challenge I might increase that goal to 171 miles).
  • Come up with and start a free fitness challenge for friends and family, particularly those in my facebook group.
Well these are my goals! I will post next month how I did on the January goals and my daily goals this month. :)

I hope you are all excited for a new year and chance to change your life!

A Friend Always,
ME :)
